アマゾンプライムビデオで『Black Fox』という映画を見ました。Crunchyrollでアニメ版を見たから、実写映画が気になりました。

僕の感想は？アニメに比べて、まあまあだと思いますが、新しい単語を見つけました。この単語は特撮映画です。このジャンルは特撮を用いて作られた実写映画のことです。

小さい頃、『マイティ・モーフィン・パワーレンジャー』というスーパー戦隊シリーズを見ました。

この映画の特撮はパワーレンジャーの事を懐かしく思い出しました。気になったら、トレーラーを見てください。

[わけにはいかない]

V(Dictionary form) + わけにはいかない

If you want to express that feeling where you want or think you can do something but for some reason it isn’t possible, this is the right grammar for you to use. The わけ used here means that something cannot be possibly done. And the いかない part of this grammar means “can’t go” or “can’t do”.

Maybe it is a tight deadline, so you can’t add extra stuff to the game you are making. Or you made a promise to be home for Christmas and you can’t let your family down by not keeping that promise.

Ex: 妹とクリスマスツリーを飾ると約束したから、がっかりさせるわけにはいかない。

(I promised my little sister that we would decorate the Christmas tree, so I can’t let her down.)

Ex: 今日のセミナーは担当なので、遅刻するわけにはいかない。

(I’m in charge of today’s seminar today, so I can’t be late.)

When you want to express thoughts on something that is unexpected this is a good time to use this grammar. 

(Although he passed the JLPT N1, he only speaks a little bit of Japanese.)

Ex: このポケモンは珍しいわりに、簡単に捕まえるよ。

(Even though it is rare, this Pokemon can be easily caught.)

Ex: 毛利小五郎は探偵として、有名なわりに推理力が足りない。

(Mouri Kogoro lacks reasoning skills, even though he is famous as a detective.)

Ex: 彼はとしのわりに足が早いですね。

(He sure is fast for his age.)

対話／DIALOGUE

Shopping can be pain during the holidays…

[買いに行こう]

A:ね、雫。今、忙しいのか？

B:５時にバイトがあるけれど、今、忙しくないよ。どうしたの、響？

A:クリスマスはそろそろだから、モールに買いに行こうと思って。一緒に行かない？

B:どうかな。バイトに間に合うかなあ。

A:今、２時だよ。時間が十分あるはずだ。

B:そうなんだ。じゃあ、買いに行こう。母へのプレゼントはまだ買っていない。

A:え？他の家族は？

B:もう買った。でも、母は趣味がないし、服もダメだし。

A:え、なんで？

B:服をあげると「返品できますか」と顔に書いてある。

A:面倒くさいなあ。

B:そうよ。

A:じゃあ、ブレスレットはどうだ。あの宝石屋ガラスケースをずっと前にじろじろ見た。

B:え、なんで知ってるの？

A:おじいさんの宝石屋だよ。最近、勤めてる。雫のお母さんは帰る前に、いつも来る。

B:へ〜 そうなんだ。じゃあ、宝石屋に行こう。

A: あまり高くないが、僕は従業員割引があるよ。

B:助かった。ありがとう。

A: Hey, Shizuku. Are you busy right now?

B:I have a part-time job at 5:00, but I’m not busy right now. What’s up, Hibiki?

A:Christmas is coming, so I thought I’d get some shopping done at the mall. Do you want to go?

B: I don’t know if I can make it before my shift starts.

A: It’s 2:00 now. That should be enough time.

B: Oh, I see. Then let’s go. I haven’t bought a present for my mom yet.

A:What? What about the rest of your family?

B:I already bought their gifts. But my mother doesn’t have any hobbies, and getting her clothes is not a good idea.

A:Eh? Why’s that?

B:When I give her clothes, she has this look on her face like “I wonder if I can return these”?

A:That’s a pain.

B:Yeah, it is.

A:Well, how about a bracelet? She’s been staring at that jewelry store’s glass case for ages.

B:Really. How do you know that?

A: It’s my grandfather’s jewelry store. I’ve been working there lately. Your mom always comes in before she goes home.

B:Oh, I see. Well, let’s go to the jewelry store.

A: It’s not very expensive, but I have an employee discount.

B: That’s great. Thanks a bunch.

救世の大冒険／KYUUSEI’S ADVENTURE

第２５

トレーナーのポケモンをたくさん倒した後、チームがつかりそうだ。息をひそめて、忍び足でトレーナーの目を避けて、次のシティに到着したまで。ポケモンセンターの向こうへ逃げると、啓二をまたぶつかった。勝負を仕掛けているのかと思った。仕掛けていなくてよかった。だったら、僕のポケモンが死んじゃうわ。ジムリーダーはいないらしい。東大にいるって。東大があるの。。。ここに？めちゃでかいや。トレーナーがいっぱいいるはずだから、いいキズぐすりを買っとく。

アサギシティは海沿いがあるので、みずタイプポケモンが持ってるトレーナーがいる。スタティックの出番だ。ひこうタイプもいるか。意外なあ。オッサンはガーディを２匹飼っているけど、ロック・リーのマグニチュードで倒した。このシティのジムリーダーのミカンは東大のトップにいるみたい。病気になったポケモンを預けるらしい。バトルのあとで、セーラーの男はタンバシティのくすりやの事を教えてくれた。そのポケモンを治す薬がありそうだと？！えっと。。。彼がこんなことを知ったら、なぜここでポケモン勝負をしているのか？ミカンさんはそのポケモンのことを心配しているから、自分で出かけないんだ。とりあえず、ミカンに出会う。それで僕は行く。

頂上に到着したため、穴に落ちた。もう〜この場所の朱里が必要だ。エレベーターがあればいいよ。ミカンはいわタイプポケモンを持っていた。カントのタケシをまねた？どんなポケモンを持っているのかなあ？ついに、東大の頂上に到着した。ミカンはつかりそうなポケモンの隣に立った。ポケモンの息が。。。たえだえ。どうしてこんなことに？そのポケモンは東大でいつも海を照らしてくれたのか。じゃあ、ミカンの代わりに薬をもらってくる。まず、なみののりを覚えるポケモンが必要だ。

After battling a lot of trainers my Pokemon are starting to look tired. Avoided some battles and reached the next city. I was rushing to the Pokemon Center when I ran into Keiji again. Thought he was going to battle me. Thank goodness he didn’t because I would’ve probably lost all my Pokemon. Looks like the Gym leader isn’t here. They are at a lighthouse. There’s a lighthouse here. It’s freaking tall. There’s probably a lot of trainers in there, so I better make sure to buy some super potions.

Since this city has a coast, there will be a lot of trainers with water type Pokemon. So it’s time for Static to shine. There are some flying types, too. Met an old guy that had two Growlithes but Rock Lee took them down with Magnitude. Looks like the Gym leader, Jasmine is at the top of this lighthouse. Sounds like she’s taking care of a sick Pokemon that lives here. After a battle, a sailor told me about a pharmacy in Cianwood City that has medicine that can cure it. If he knows that then why is he still here battling? Jasmine must be worried about the Pokemon so she can’t leave. I’ll meet her first and then I’ll go.

Had to fall through some holes to get to the stairs that lead to the top. Jeez, this place needs some repairs and an elevator. Sounds like Jasmine used to train Rock type Pokemon. Does she want to be like Brock from Kanto? Wonder what kind of Pokemon she has now. Finally made it to the top. Jasmine is standing beside this tired looking Pokemon. Its breathing is awful. How’d it get like this? So it lights up this lighthouse. Well, I’ll go get the medicine. But first I need a Pokemon that can learn Surf.
