日本語の練習 第69週 Japanese Practice Week 69
Hello everyone! Kyuusei here to teach you Japanese and show what I find interesting about Japan. With that being said, let’s continue.
日本語のイベント

日本に行ったら、自転車でしまなみ海道サイクリングしてみたい。すごく長いみたいだけど、楽しそうです。しかし、一日中にサイクリングする。。。僕だってそれは無理だと思います。
N4 文法
[お～ください]
This is used to tell someone to do something in a more polite way. In other words, it is keigo.
“please do…”
お + Verb (drop polite form ます) + ください
Ex: 狩猟をまだコピーしているので、少々お待ちください。
(I’m still copying these documents, so please wait one moment.)
Ex: 申し訳ございません、今晩はお客様は休んでいますから、朝までにお伝えください。
(My apologies, our guest has turned in for the evening, so please tell them in the morning.)
[お～になる]
This is used when you are talking about someone else who is doing something in a keigo style.
“to do (keigo form of する)”
お ＋ Verb (drop polite form ます) ＋ になる
Ex: 仕事が終わるので、部長はもうお帰りになりました。
(Work is done so the boss has already left.)
Ex: お嬢様、いつ結婚式招の待状をお出しになりますか。
(Sister, when will you send out the invitations for the wedding ceremony?)
[おきに]
This is used to express that something is done in a certain interval of time or measurement. For instance, like every second or every millimeter.
“Repeated at certain times/ every…”
Noun + おきに
Ex: なぜ彼女は数秒おきに携帯のスクリーンに目をやっていたか？
(Why does she keep looking at her phone every few seconds?)
Ex: 今晩出かてれば、２０分おきにちゃんとメールを出さなさい。
(If you go out tonight, make sure to text me every 20 minutes.)
[終わる（おわる）]
This grammar point is used to turn the verb “to finish or to end” into a conjugation with another verb. For instance, finish studying for a test or to finish speaking about ice cream.
“To finish/To end doing something”
Verb (drop polite form ます) ＋ 終わる
Ex: 毎日毎日、コーヒーを飲んでいる。飲み終わったらちゃんと片付けてください。
(Day in and day out, you are drinking coffee. If you have finished drinking, please clean up.)
Ex: 森さんは事件を調べり終わったとき、真犯人をあたりに選べませんでした。
(When Mori finishes investigating the case, he doesn’t choose the true culprit correctly.)
トピックスを答えましようか
1. Looks like you lost a game of rock paper scissors, so now you have to go get ice cream for everyone at the ice cream stand. Ask for 2 vanillas, 1 chocolate, and 1 strawberry.
バニラを二つ、チョコレートを一つ、とイチゴを一つください。
2. Shizuku, your classmate, tells you that she went for a walk this morning and found a lost phone around 9am. You recognize the phone as your friend’s, Akihito’s phone. After studying at the library with Shizuku, bring the phone to Akihito and tell him how it was found.
今朝、雫さんは散歩して、午前９ぐらいに昭仁の携帯を見つけた。
3. After getting his phone back, Akihito asks you if you want to go to Osaka with him today. Tell him that since the weather has been good there recently, you will go.
最近大阪の天気が良かったと思うから、行こう。
4. A classmate is doing a survey for who owns a flip phone. Tell them that you think the person who probably still has a flip phone would be Haru.
フリップフォンをまだ持っている人はたぶん春さんだと思います。
5. Shizuku asks you about Akihito’s favorite sport. You know that he likes American sports but can’t remember which one he likes. Shizuku then asks you what sport is popular in America. Tell her that you think that Basketball has great popularity in America. Also he was filling out a bracket yesterday.
アメリカの中で、バスケットボールが大人気があると思います。
それに、昨日、昭仁はNCAAのブラケットフォームを書き込んでいた。
N4 動詞
1. 汚れる（よごれる）– To Get Dirty
Ex: 母は汚れた車をきれいにしたいそうです。
(Mum wants to clean her car that got dirty.)
Ex: うげー、雨が降っているので、靴が汚れてになった。
(Ugh, my shoes became dirty because of the rain.)
Ex: 汚れにくい携帯電話が欲しいなあ。
(I want a phone that is hard to get dirty.)
2. 寄る（よる）– To Pass/To Stop By/To Visit
Ex: 大阪に来たから、珍しい場所に寄ってみる。
(Since I am in Osaka, I’ll try to stop by new places. )
Ex: 今度神戸に来たとき、親のうちにまた寄ってもいいかい。
(When you come to Kobe, may I come visit your parent’s place again?)
Ex: 京都にいたら、うちにちょっと寄っていきませんか？
(If you go to Kyoto, will you come visit my place for a bit?)
3. 喜ぶ（よろこぶ）– To Be Delighted/To Be Pleased
Ex: どうしたんですか、衛宮士郎、麻婆豆腐が嫌いのかい？喜べ少年！
(What’s wrong, Shiro Emiya? Do you dislike Mapo Tofu? Rejoice, boy!)
Ex: もちろん、私の息子は喜んで君を手伝うでしょう。
(Of course my son would be delighted to help you.)
Ex: 僕たちはその映画を見て喜んでいます。
(We were delightfully watching the movie.)
4. 沸かす（わかす）– To Boil/To Heat
Ex: 姉は米を沸かしているとき、いつも凝られてしまった。
(When my big sister is boiling rice, she always burns it.)
Ex: 僕はお茶を入れるために湯を沸かしています。
(To make tea, I’m boiling water.)
Ex: 水は川が集めて来たから、まず、御湯を沸かしてください。
(If you got water from the river, please boil the water first.)

野良犬
野良（のら）
From the first kanji 野（の）can mean rustic, field, etc. But in this context it comes from the word wild. The 良（ら）comes from the kanji good, so I’m somewhat confused on how it makes up this word. Together they mean “stray”.
If you have watched a certain anime called Noragami or ノラガミ then you may be familiar with this word. Even though Noragami is written in katakana in the show’s title it means “Stray God”.
ノラガミ ＝ 野良神（のらがみ）
犬（いぬ）
This word just simply means “dog”.
So put all together, you get “Stray Dog”.
This title comes from the 191st episode of Boruto. The show is good and like how they try to flesh out the story where the monthly manga fails to do (which is understandable since they are monthly and want to stick to the main plot). Especially now since a certain character has appeared that many have been waiting to see in the anime. The last episode’s art was dedicated to the manga art-style which made it pop and look so much better. Unfortunately, they went back to the old art style in this episode.
I’m a bit disheartened that they gave us something like that and then went right back to the usual art. I like this but I love the other art style that reflects the manga’s art. Besides if they did that every week, I’m pretty sure that would turn out to be a problem in a production sense. Speaking of Boruto, the manga chapter for this month has come out and I better go read it after this since it’s the aftermath of a fight.

間に合った。２４番道路に戻った。出会った男は俺にヒトカゲにあげてみたけど、断った。２５番道路に他のマダツボミを見つけた。今はチャンスがあるので、皆、それを殺すなぞ！よし、捕まえた。え？！こいつは虫を食べる？！こいつはチョウムからを別れるべきだね。こいつはでかい口があるので、ヒロイグチを呼んだ。山の男とポケモンバトルした。あいつは超強くて皆をからてチョップして続けているワンリキーがウザイ。あいつはイシツブテもいるけど、キバの「水鉄砲」を使って俺たち大丈夫さ。
トレーナーは「みんなトレーニングしているのため、ここはトレーナーがいっぱい」と言った。なるほど。しまった。イッコケセイは「二度蹴り」の技を忘れさせて、「毒針」を覚えさせてしまった。バトルの後、金持ちガキは サント・アンヌ号に乗る時のことを伝えてもらった。こいつはあの船に強いトレーナーたちを出会った。楽しそうけど、高いだよね。絶対に乗らねえぞ。ほしいくせに、自転車を買ってできない。とにかく、船の切符を持っているの方法がもらうだろう。
わざマシンの「メガトンパンチ」が「格闘」のタイプの技みたいと思ったから、ルフィに教えてやる。だけど、その技はノーマルタイプだった。なんだそれ？！少女とバトルしたのあと時、彼女は「君はあたしの彼氏より強いよ」。お～ケー。。。それは悲しそうだな。
あ、アイテムはあそこにあるだが、あいつは邪魔だ。バトルのため、あいつをこっち向いて呼んだ（あとで、アイテムをゲットぜ。）努力なし、つまりあいつを簡単に倒した。さ、アイテムをゲット。くそ、わざマシンだけだった。次は、かわいいポケモンが好き少女とバトルした。あとで、彼女は俺にはお月見から来た聞いているから 、俺にピッピを頼んだ。わるいだが、俺はピッピが持っていないよ。お、あそこはビルの家か？そのアイデアをピッチしよう。
REI’S JOURNAL
I made it. I returned to Route 24. A guy tried to give a Charmander but I refused. Found another Bellsprout on Route 25. Now’s my chance so guys, don’t kill it. All right, I caught it! Eh?! It eats bugs?! Better keep it away from Choumu, huh. I’ll name it Hiroiguchi since it has a big mouth. I had a Pokemon Battle with a mountaineer. He had this strong Machop that kept Karate Chopping everyone. He also had a Geodude but Kiba’s water gun took care of it. I found an elixir in a stone wall. Wonder what it was doing there.
I heard from a trainer that there are a lot of trainers coming here to train. It seems to be the case. There’s a ton of trainers here. Crap. I made Ikkokesei forget Double Kick and let it learn Poison Sting. After a battle, a rich kid told me about his time on S.S. Anne. He met a lot of strong trainers on the ship. Sounds fun but expensive so I won’t be getting on it. Heck, I can’t even buy a bike. There’s gotta be an easier way to get it. I thought the TM Mega Punch sounded like a fighting move, so I taught it to Luffy. However, it was a normal type move. What the heck?!
After fighting a girl’s Pokemon, she told me that I am stronger than her boyfriend. Ooookay. That’s kind of sad.
Ah, there’s an item over there, but this guy is in the way. I called him over for a battle (I’ll get the item afterwards). I beat him with almost no effort. Now, the item. Darn, it was another TM. I fought this trainer that likes cute Pokemon next. After the battle she asked me for a Clefairy since I’ve been to Mt. Moon. Told her I didn’t have one and left. Oh, is that Bill’s house over there. Time to pitch that idea.
