About Japanese Practice
I’m learning Japanese so I decided to make a blog. You can find the recent posts here. I post every Sunday (America – CST). There’s other stuff I’ve done in the past but, if you’re interested, the following is what I’m doing now.
日本語のイベント／EVENT IN JAPANESE
I talk about something (anime, video games, learning resources, etc.) only in Japanese.
Currently studying for the N3, so I go over grammar and provide example sentences.
I break down the kanji in verbs & provide an anime with the verb being used.
Create a dialogue in Japanese and English.
Translate Japanese articles every other week into English.
Sometimes translate comments that I find while leaving my own thoughts on the topic.
LEARN FROM LET’S PLAYS: KINGDOM HEARTS
I really like the Kingdom Hearts series so I’ve been translating, explaining some Japanese and providing what the official English translator went with. Plus, when the first instance of a kanji shows up, I put the pronunciation of it in hiragana (also known as furigana).
Want to start from the beginning? Here’s the first entry into this series. I’ve also made an archive of this series on Substack.
Did a 30-day Speaking Challenge last year where I spoke in Japanese for 1 minute.
Here lies my successes and failures. Don’t worry. I subtitled them in English and Japanese.
タイトルを見る／WHAT’S IN A TITLE
Break down of Japanese in titles from anime, manga, songs, etc.
Usually talk about where it comes from.
Playing through Pokemon Yellow Nuzlocke style & making a bilingual journal of the many adventures (& possible deaths of teammates) Rei has in Kanto.
You can find entry #1 here.
